Professional Development – Creating Teachers who live in the TPCK “sweet spot”


Session Summary:

What are the most effective ways to offer faculty Professional
Development? What are we developing? Idealy we create teachers who understand Technology,
Pedagogy,and Content as represented by the TPCK model. It isn’t one size fits all. This session
will look at how we use ning networks to discuss, google sites/wikispaces to document growth
and share, virtual classrooms to connect with experts, moodle to deliver tutorials, and blended
face to face and webinars to investigate contemporary best practices. We will examine how to
create pre and post session opportunities so PD is not an isolated one time experience. We will
also explore how a network can be leveraged to generate face to face sessions.
